Are They Really That Different?

The picture on the left is a pair of swimshorts from Lands' End and the pair on the right is from Vilebrequin. Apart from the white tie on the Vilbrequin shorts, there seems to be very little to choose from between the two except for the price. The Lands' End swimshorts cost US$20 whereas the Vilbrequin shorts cost US$170 (indicative price from the Vilebrequin US online store). I need to have a serious re-think about whether I really need a pair of Vilbrequin swimshorts or whether I can have something similar from Lands' End at a far better price without probably no difference in quality, the only difference is that one has a label identifying itself as a "Vilebrequin" and the other as "Lands' End". I don't see why I won't be able to sleep peacefully at night without a pair of Vilebrequin swimshorts and with an extra US$150 in my bank account.
