My Favourite Bear

I can't believe that I only saw my first episode of "Man Vs Wild" (I think it was broadcast in the UK on Channel 4 as "Born Survivor") this week even though it's been broadcast on the Discovery Channel for some time now. The host and star of this programme is Michael Edward Grylls, better known as Bear Grylls.

More biographical information about Bear can be found here and as soon as I watched the programme, I did suspect (and subsequently as it turned out, quite correctly) that he was ex-SAS. What's remarkable about his is that he's about my age and already done all these incredible things. There's been an expose in one of the tabloids about how certain parts of the documentary have been dramatised but I don't really care.

I'm not normally into human "bears" but he's definitely one Bear I can never get enough of. He defines the word "intrepid" and I simply can't get enough of him. Here's some clips of what he does - not the most appetising but it evokes in me a certain primal attraction for a man like him.

It might seem rather unusual that after having drunk water from elephant poo, he'd be squamish about drinking his own pee but it might have something to do with the fact that the elephant poo episode could have been filmed after the drinking his own pee episode.

It's a shame that we don't get to see his wedding tackle but judging from how low he holds the water bottle when peeing into it, I can only speculate that he is reasonably, if not quite, well hung. Never a bad thing in a man.
